1975 Late Bay Project. Starts, runs and drives. Only done 5K miles since new engine was fitted! Looking for £4000

Unfortunately I just don’t have the time to finish this project. I have another Bay and a Mk1 caddy so I can’t give this the time it needs.

it’s a 1975 RH drive Late bay, Danbury conversion. I bought it locally off an older guy who had owned it for over 30 years. He spent a lot of money on it over the years but unfortunately it got to the point where he just couldn’t afford to carry out the welding work required to keep it on the road.

I bought it in 2019. I drove it to my garage then set about restoring it. Since I have owned it, I have cut out the rotten cargo floor, replaced the top hats, RH side jacking points and outriggers, repaired areas of chassis and installed new RH cargo floor panel. Also I replaced the RH inner, mid and outer sills.

The LH floor panel is supplied and ready to weld in. The LH mid, inner and outer sill panels will be included in the sale but need welding in. It will also require new front and rear arches, new rear lower corners and work to the roof gutters. The worst section is above the LH cab door but I have a good cut from another van which will be supplied. Also various other places that need welding. Basically a full restoration required.

I have the receipt from when the engine was fitted in 2011 (1600 twin port type 1) and it has done less than 5K miles since. It starts, runs and drives. The engine sounds sweet.

Unfortunately it doesn’t have any interior except for the front seats. I removed the original danbury interior and sold it as I was going to install a more modern interior with rock and roll bed.

Please note this is a full restoration project that will require a significant amount of welding and bodywork but its well worth saving with a good engine.

It will come with the following panels:
    LH cargo floor panel
Lh forward and aft jacking points and outriggers
LH inner, mid and outer sills
    Cargo door (needs work)
Roof gutter section above LH cab door
And any other panels I have bought for it and forgotten about.

located in mid Devon. I will get more photos uploaded during this week.

    £4000
