  2. A friend with a trailer came and helped me move Libby up to RAF Waddington (where I work) where I have a heated garage for her to live in over the winter!
She did drive up onto the trailer with no issues bar a small oil leak from the sump plate as the oil warmed up.

Here on the airfield looking lonely,

...and outside under cover till the weekend when she'll go inside.

  8. Waddo is great, it's a bit sleepy compared to other stations due to the aircraft types I think. I was on 8 Sqn (AWACS) for nearly 10 years, has a great time.

Here it is in the garage squeezed in next to my Sergeants T25. We're going to have a move around to create space to work over winter.

  9. ...and now the garage is sorted!

We've room to work and somw heavy duty shelving in the middle to store parts mid work.

Now I spend my days driving round the airfield when theres no work on!

    ...some work will happen soon...

  10. Coolflo app make up of my van.
I had to crudely mix two pictures together in paint but it was a bit of fun.

  11. Yepp,,get some bumpers on it.

  12. Yep, that's the plan.

  13. Been with the van today at its winter retreat.

I've always wondered what was going on with the sliding door track cover,
    [IMG]

    Here is the "repair"

I took the door off to see why its so hard to shut. The rollers look fine, all that I found was that it is muckup. So I gave it all a good old clean.

...and this is whats left of my seal.

What should I lube it up with?

  14. I read on another site some white silicone grease so that's what i did. Much quieter and smoother now, but i also replaced the rusty track..

  15. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

The rollers have bearings, the wheels are meant to turn.
Greasing the track isn't the greatest idea as it attractes the muck.

  16. Yeah, I assumed the rollers get greased and not the track.

Well today was the day me and Billy (aka Bignosedbear) bodged the front bumper on with what can only be decribed as "ghetto welding" but its a rat van so pretty ain't important.

    There was some grinding,
    [IMG]

    An awesome selfie,
    [IMG]

Some welding of the bumper irons on to the frame,
    [IMG]

    Some arsing about,
    [IMG]

The bumper is so bent and dented, its looks right at home.

  17. looks good

  18. Loving this van - lots of different ideas!

(Have to admit, I preferred it without badge or bumpers, but it's your ride and still looks awesome)

  19. Cheers!

The badge randomly fell off in the garage, it survived the round trip to the Belgium Grand Prix but not some spannering time. I may not put it back on.

Today the rear bumper was grafted on despite having to work around some interesting repair work from previous owners.

Here is the beast with irons...

Some cutting of the old repairs!

    ...and there it is!

  20. Rest of the underneath and exhaust re-built today. The exhaust isn't as offensive now with the bumper on. I hope the Mrs thinks this as she's not a fan of the exhaust.

...then I went and poked around the bottom of the windscreen as I walked past. Oh dear.
