For sale is our beloved “Dotty” the campervan. Right hand drive. We bought her about three years ago as a project and since then she has been rebuilt to a high standard mostly by myself.
She is a 1974 Westfalia T2 bay window with a original 1600 cc engine and 4 speed gearbox.
She is fully roadworthy recently had a rebuilt engine (with receipts) and only covered about 1000 miles on this engine with recent service and oil change. Gearbox was also refurbished by a gearbox specialist (again with receipts)
The previous owner carried out the bodywork refurbishment and paintwork however did not get round to finishing the rest of the vehicle and that’s when we bought her. She was delivered on a low loader with engine on the floor and in a state. I have fully stripped the inside. Replaced the rock and roll bed with new foam, door cards, seat upholstery , mechanical and electrical completed etc. She has a 2 way fridge (12v and 240v). Runs great and NO rust at all. Paint look looks fresh and shiny. There are a few chips and marks in places but been touched up.
    What I have done:
Replacement rebuilt original 1600cc engine from specialist.
Refurbished original gearbox with new gearbox oil and seals.
    Dynamo (alternator) new brushes.
New discs pads, brake cylinders and master cylinder all round.
    New clutch.
New tyres and rims refurbished and painted.
    New rear lights.
Replacement interior. High quality low weight cupboards costing almost £1000. 2 way fridge (12 and 240v)
All new interior fabric, rock and roll bed foam and door cards.
Rear three point seat belts for safety with height extenders (almost £200 alone).
Receipts for all work and parts totalling £1000s spent.
    New leisure battery 2018.
Maintenance chargers for leisure and classic battery.
Automatic fire prevention system fitted to engine compartment for piece of mind.
240v hard wired hook up with rcd protection and several 13a usb socket outlets.
Pop top roof recently protected with uv canvas protection. Sleeping area (children) in pop top.
Suspension refurbished and dust covers replaced on ball joints.
    Vehicle Electrical system overhauled.
New fuel tank sender unit and hoses.
Dozens of new or refurbished parts literally to many to list but dozens of receipts.
An excellent condition camper that I’m reluctantly selling due to lack of time. I’m certain a genuine buyer will want to snap this up and will struggle to find a similar rust free vehicle for this price.
This vehicle is MOT and TAX exempt. One job I have not got round to is fixing a small oil leak. It’s not massive and I think it’s around the oil filter housing area but it’s small and only a few drips not needing to add oil etc so decided to leave for the time being as doesn’t cause issues. Other than that can’t think of anything else. Starts on the button even in winter when I would turn it over now and again.
