1973 Westy Seats?

Discussion in 'Introduce Yourselves' started by Spen, Apr 9, 2020.

  1. Hi All, A newbie here & thanks for the add!

I have a 73' Westy about to go for paint, it had MG Metro seats in when I got it, but have these A2A32F4E-EC97-4EC2-B615-83C4CE380223.jpeg 7B0B2B53-BD74-43B1-B0F9-8AD3E460590F.jpeg seats that need re doing. Can anyone help me. Are they correct for the year, if so what are they like to re upholster etc. Also I have no runners or whatever is needed for the passenger seat. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Also the original paint code says Orient blue/Pastel White, any pics of theirs would be great!
Probably more questions to follow :(
    Many thanks in advance.

  2. They are early seats. The runners for the drivers seat should be already present on the seat tub (unless someone has butchered it). The passenger seat just sits in double C shaped brackets.... @davidoft sells these. I can reupholster the seats in the colour(s) of your choice but if they need new pads (which they will) that can prove expensive (up to £150 per seat depending on pad availability)
P.S. I have these already made up. 54F6F1DC-7430-40C4-B6AD-9640910BB3BD.jpeg

Just to add to the above. The driver's runners should look a little like this (these are butty's bits replacements for later tubs, but the general style is similar):

And the passenger brackets are the little gold brackets you can just see here:

You can see the ones I reupholstered for our van here: A restoration for Iris
