1973 VW Bay with 2.5 RJES Subaru Conversion

It’s getting dropped 3” on the 21st may and I should have a bit more interior around then too so I’ll post a few more pics. Thanks for all the positive comments.

how much have you dropped yours? Which hole are you in?!

 

I put a rear camera in the other day. It’s connected to the reverse lights and kicks in when I reverse using the rear view mirror as a screen. It works a treat. It even has its own leds lights surrounding the camera when I reverse. It’s only there coz I have to park it within half an inch of the side gate to get it off the pavement! Picture shows it without standard reversing lights working but they do work now

 

Clever..Does that system still use the stock rear view mirror ?

I suspect I'd crash if I tried to use a reversing camera.
Smart though if you like that sort of thing.

 

In the top hole so the highest it can be. I wanted it mainly for the steering rack rather than going low

Ah ok. That’s where mine is at the mo, I’m not lowering to be cool... it won’t fit in the bloody garage haha

 

Nice build mate it looks great, you can’t beat a Subaru conversion for use in a daily, I drove mine for about 3 years as a daily with a 16ootp then had my conversion it was awesome. It’s been in the body shop for the last year, patiently waiting

 

Brilliant. Hopefully you’ll get it back soon. Mine was in and out the bodyshop for years! I drive mine 31 miles everyday... with a big grin on my face haha

Bodywork = Slambassadors
Electrics = Air Cooled Auto Elec
VW and Subaru Conversions = MAC VW
VW and Audi engines = JJ’s

all based around the north west

 

Shame you aren't near me you could have had me in that list.

Ive been insulting today. Got some advice from a guy who converts t4/t5’s. Insulation from b&q

 

Not sure if I need a plastic sheet before replacing the panels, any advice on this?
