  1. vw camper 1973 bay window Rhd

    mot august 7 th 2013

    tax end jan 13

    mileage 29 ,712 presumably this is 129 , 712

    recon engine at 21,463

    lots of paperwork /reciepts

i've owned this van for approx 4 years and have spent a lot of time and money on it during my ownership .

Just this year i have had the whole middle panel on the drivers side replaced as there was a rubbish previous repair there , the rear arch on the same side , one inner and outer sill , the outter sill on the other side was replaced previously .one outrigger and one jacking point .

during the time i've owned it i've replaced the cab doors with US imports with opening quarter lights , replaced the engine lid and the rear hatch , as well as two opening windows in the back , the window rubbers have all been replaced with the exception of the 2 small windows in the back .

changed the devon roof for a 2nd hand one as the orignal leaked badly.

Been lowered (adjusters welded in )

    stainless steel exhaust

front panel's been replaced along with 2nd hand screen .

full size rock n roll bed , very comfy ,covers were all new approx 18 months ago .

drives well , just came back from north devon last month with no problems approx 540 mile round trip .

ive painted it myself so its not the best but its presentable , before it was painted i took it right back to bare metal so i knew exactly what was there !

The only bad points or things left to do are:, if i were keepng it was going to get the front arches replaced , they're not horrendous and would guess you could wait another couple of years before they needed doing ,drivers side step has been replaced but passenger will need doing as its got fibre glass in it also the sliding door has rust along the bottom so ideally this needs cutting out and replacing at some point ( there is filler in there at the moment ) oh almost forgot the heat exchangers ..., theres not much of them , they're there but they have lots of holes in them , ( been like that ever since ive owned the van )

Not a great deal really to do and nothing that needs doing right away you can literally get in and go .

The underneath is all solid .

Its not a show winning van by any means but it is what it is , with no hidden nasties hidden underneath the paint .

In view of all the above , the good and bad points and the money ive spent i'm looking for £6750 ono

The van is based near southend , essex .

Mileage may go up slighty but its not my daily driver so shouldnt go up much .
