1972 Devon Moonracker Project - Finally, its time to part company

  1. Hi all,
I started posting in Restorations so as not to duplicate pictures, please search for that post titled "Lenny (the neglected ) campervan"
I'm hoping to sell him complete and I'm in the process of trying to document what's included.
Basically its all their as I purchased it so there is nothing missing. So far I have documented some...

    RECONDITIONED PARTS
    Front callipers
    Front Beam
    Steering box (prototype bay)

    NEW PARTS
    6x window rubbers
    Rear LEFT tub
Both door seal sets (12 piece each)
    All components of front clip
    All outriggers

    RESTORED PARTS
    Sliding Door
    Both cab doors (replaced)
    Cab floor
    Tailgate
    Engine lid

    UNTESTED PARTS
Engine (turns over freely by hand)
    Gearbox

The list could go on forever. I would like someone to come and view it and set the price for themselves.
I don't want to break it but if that's what needs to happen, then so be it.
I have tried to "guess the resale value of main parts and been realistic based of actual sale values on eBay and come up with a figure of £3,200. Its worth bearing in mind, that the bus is 100% solid from the front to the rear of the centre panel. the correct front arches alone cost £600 for the correct year set.
I would therefore like to ask £4,500 for the complete bus and see what interest (or not) i get before considering breaking.

    Many thanks, Rob

Are you going to finish it?

  5. Only finish it to roadworthy condition. By that I mean, it can be driven away. The body work is all but complete now and will have a protective topcoat applied (same white as front half). The reason that I returned the deposit is due to the amount of work that I have done since Nov 11th.
Chris (the guy who placed the deposit) and I agreed that I continue the work while waiting for Lockdown2 to end (still waiting!!!). the problem was that I "believe" I have added too much value to the bus now. As I said, the body work is near finished, the engine is in and starts from the cab and runs of the fuel tank. All the electrics are in (except wipers and lamps). The steering is back together.
By the time i come to sell im hoping that all it needs is the roof bellows addressing as the are in a poor state and a cargo area seating/camper arrangement.
