This advertisement is for the sale of our bay camper, Woody. After a difficult set of circumstance throughout this year the camper has now got to be sold. The is a thread in the restoration section that shows some of the work done, the thread is not fully up to date though and I do have more photos. I bought the camper from the drummer of a rockabilly band who had bought Woody from a carpenter some years before. Woody is a UK Registered VW camper registered in 1972, it has a 1600 Type 1 engine, and is tax exempt. I have al the relevant paperwork including original owners manual. I have some history with the van with tax discs back to the 80’s and receipts back to the 90’s. The camper has the early lowlights at the front but later rear lights at the back. Bought in 2012 and used extensively till it was taken off the road to carry out some bodywork and engine work, as with all small tasks this job got bigger and bigger, combine this with a knee operation and motorbike accident and the job has become too much for me to complete on my driveway. I have removed and treated the fuel tank and repaired rust patches inside the tank area, the rear corners and battery trays have been repaired and replaced, The rear valance has been rebuilt from scratch. The rear arches have also been repaired along with repairs to the rear of the inner tubs. The roof was originally missing a pop top and one was source and replaced, it does come with the correct hammocks for the roof too. The engine is a reconditioned longblock built by Steve strong engines, this case did not have to be reground. It is a stock engine and has not even been run in yet! All the tinware was treated and repainted and is as good as new. I do have videos of the engine running. The engine and running gear are all in full working order with the issues being mainly bodywork, the roof and gutters are in good order as is the front window and surrounding frame. I do have repair panels and replacement arches to fix some of the areas on the camper. I have included pictures of the camper and can send more on request.
