  1. Missing the customs document to prove VAT paid, which I never received. This is being sent to Lincoln DVLA next week, so I will be able to get it registered towards the end of the week.

  2. Had a bit of trouble with customs / DVLA as they have moved across to a paperless proof of duty system, but sent me a paper copy, which DVLA wouldn't initially accept. I'm finally registered now and have a nice tax free tax disc.

  3. Final jobs list before it goes back to the painter for a couple of snags and the bumpers. Fixing horn, fitting and wiring Firetec, dash out to sort out the vents, new brake fluid reservoir, extra seatbelt to fit on rear seat / bed, snail fan to fit and wire with new ducts, towbar to fit and wire, fit heater levers, fit replacement steering wheel and boss, fit split charge relay, fit support bungs under Westy roof rack, fit softer C&C door seals, replace hose pieces on breather pipes and pipe breather into air filter, finish underseal, waxoyl hollow sections and do wheel alignment. Seems like a long list when it looked nearly complete.

  4. Brilliant news:thumbsup:

  5. More cleaning up today. Been cleaning the seat belts and polishing the chrome bits / bit's that used to be plated. Going to clean up the inside of the pop top later and start having a go at getting some of the excess spray glue off the paint around the seals. Not sure how to do this yet.

  6. That looks great, excellent finish on the paint. I love the westy louvres, good job.

  7. looking great mate, good progress :)

where did you get the edging from for your units and doors? and how tight is the corners on them?

  8. J&S built the units with the edging strips on. I think they can supply edging separately. http://vwinteriors.com/

  9. Quick update on progress as I am nearly there now. The last month has been taken up with sorting mechanical issues out, getting the engine and brakes right and cleaning lots of trim items. The painter is ready to finish off a few defects and get the bumpers and spare wheel painted and fitted , so the van is now off for a week or so to finally get sorted. That should then be the end of the restoration thread and I can post up in Show Us Your Ride.

  10. Pretty much finished now so I'm going to leave the resto thread with these pictures. I picked it up from the painter today after he sorted out the bumpers and a couple of bits of rectification. Took it down for an MoT as well - no problems there, it passed a year ago and has only done 200 miles since with the time spent being worked on.
