1641 whole engine or parts.

Only had my Bus about 3 months and I have had the engine tuned and serviced and parts upgraded/fixed and or changed to get it running ok, but have now decided to have a bigger engine fitted. It is being built by Autotechniks at the moment.

If anyone wants the complete engine, I will make sure no parts are scavenged from it, or is anyone after a particular part.

I imagine it will be 2+ months until it is ready.

Details of Engine

1641 TES Red Engine Big Bore Range - fitted to the van in 2008 by previous owner.

Things I have had done since Sept 2011 by a VW aircooled garage (only driven about 50 miles since)

I removed the Chrome Reproduction tinware and replaced it with original tin (all of it) (Only fanhousing for sale and this cost me £150, but won't be using it now.)
New clutch.
New 75amp Alternator
New Fan
New Pertronix Ignitor 2 kit
New Pertronix Flamethrower 2 coil in black
New Pertronix Flamethrower Leads - Blue 7mm
New spark plugs
New Fuel Pipes
Serviced - valves/timing done etc


Runs nice and starts first time...................I just want more power !!

Old tinware for sale now - Chrome VW Heritage Reproduction twin Port/Dog House Fanshrouds and Cylinder Head tin.

Also Empi Shifter.

Sorry I have no prices at the moment. If this is braking the rules let me know and I will think of some, and add them.
Just really trying to see if there is any interest, as I will have no need for any of it soon

Had a chat with Mark yesterday (he says hello back). Although bottom end is being balanced at the moment, I did say I was thinking of going bigger. I want to get it right first time. More expensive to take out and change !! Already have heads spec'd for 94mm, so I suppose my options with a stroker crank, are now 2052, 2109, 2175 or 2275...........he will get back to me

Are you after a complete turnkey engine with exhaust as well?

Could all be removed by autotechniks and just handed over to you (minus tinware), if they are ok with you collecting it from there.

Might be worth you driving up to mine to take a look?

New parts have just cost me about £700. (Clutch, Alternator, fanshroud, fan, electronic ignition stuff), plus tuning costs etc. So I suppose I am looking for about £1500, for the whole lot.

Was hoping to sell the whole lot together or just the engine on its own.
I'll find out from autotechniks if they will be using these parts on my new engine.

Well my engine is now out of my bus and waiting for the new one to go in.

Alternator and backing plate removed.
Coil, leads and dizzy removed.
Tinware removed.
Fanshroud has been removed, but can be included for an extra £110, as it is more or less brand new.

Think my original price was a bit optompistic

Seemed to be running ok, as I had a £200 service at vw airfix. Have not ran any tests on it, or opened it up though.

Will try and get some pics taken, when I am next up at Autotechniks.

Would prefer to sell as one unit.

Note: exhaust is included as well.

Just want to get rid of it, as I don't fancy lugging it back home, so as a few parts have been removed, I am looking for just £450.
