1600 twin port heat exchangers

  1. That’s the difference. I worked out once (I’m sad) that originals have about 2.5 x the fin area.

    I’ve got 3 here all the same but I can’t decide whether they’re repro or not ? Can’t find any markings.

    thanks for the offers @Flakey & @Duble agent V.W.Ford . i will make a bit of a list of what else is required before i commit. all i have is the 'y' piece and the flap under the seats !

  9. Best to sort out the leaky pipework first and wrap with insulation, then get a pair of new exchangers. as mentioned old rusted originals may leak exhaust fumes inside which then get blown into the van,

    No pipework at the moment. It was either missing or beyond when i did the work to the van !
