I tend to reuse my paper filters anyway, I think my record is something like 20 cups. I did lose an end cap once, I left it in the kitchen and the cleaner chucked it in the bin... I'm going to order this, has two discs with different grades of mesh: https://www.amazon.co.uk/KOFFI-DISC-MESH-FINE-Stainless/dp/B01MQ6XYSO/ Back on original topic, If Mr Apollo can get Mrs Apollo using an Aeropress it will probably be a hit, but I understand that it might not have the 'wow factor' for a birthday present as a Nespresso machine would.
Blimey. What's wrong with one of these? Looks cool. Great coffee. I use it at home and take it camping. If you like strong coffee, 4 cups? Haha - 1 mug.
yup, i love using my bialetti hex-pot. sooooooo strong. It helps me get up in the morning* afternoon!
Thanks for the comments, it hadn't occurred to me that Mrs A would secretly be wanting some power tools, but now you come to mention it, I may just be missing the subtle hints... Failing that, the Handpress and Aeropress coffee makers may be almost as good as an angle-grinder. As we drive back across France to the UK a couple of times a year, in a rather dull Citroen, coffee on the go, that doesn't come from a service station vending machine can only be a win. Unfortunately, she will probably also be getting a new fridge, ours has just given up the ghost. Apparently, the old camping fridge, aka a bucket of water with a wet tea towel laid over it isn't a suitable replacement.
My aeropress was a birthday present and I was well chuffed.. metal gauze is a good extra .. no waste bits of paper, makes nice coffee too.. a coffee pot is good but then we can use one kettle to make tea and coffee.. Mrs Deefer not keen on coffee
If you had a big leisure battery you could fit a 1200 watt inverter and run the real thing... https://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/nespresso-power-consunption/ But please also note how you should really wean yourselves off this bad habit... https://www.independent.co.uk/life-...mage-and-prefers-to-use-filters-10083379.html
Mocha-pot for me when camping, got a nice bean to cup when at home. Looked at the 12v options and didn’t find anything that was suitable.
