Making an anonymous (non-TLB related) donation... How would you donate it?
Edit: I mean who would you donate to?

Local hospice/carer agency? Children’s support/foster care? Old folks lunch club - tho dads are both cancelled at the mo.

I imagine that is governed by the recipient.

If they have a gofundme page, or they accept cheques etc. What is their preferred payment method, if they have one?

  8. Most charities have a Facebook donation page or a link from their website to a donation page.

Local food bank is all I can think of at the moment, hence the question :hattip:

‘Brads’ teenage cancer charity would be the one for me.

Never mind who you'd donate it to, how did you get the windfall? We could all do with one?:)

  17. Suppose ( with me ) i`d look as to what percentage would actually go the cause .
Many charities have paid executives which take a slice , often a big slice ...
    A quick example .
We go holidaying in South Africa , they have huge issues . I spotted a charity who took kids from the townships out exploring Table Mountain which i thought was a great idea and worthy of a donation i make to a different charity each time we visit .
The website showed the usual so i dug a bit deeper . They had at least twenty paid `consultants` , doctors , botanists , physios etc etc ...
The organisation ran 2 trips the previous year with a total of 25 kids having a day out on table mountain .
The `charity` took over £30k in donations last year , it`s not rocket science to see where the rest went . (30k isn`t a huge amount but over there a labourer will typically earn less than a pound a day ...)

    I`m looking elsewhere .

As for this country i really wouldn`t know where to start as we don`t have anthing like the problems in `developing countries ` but i do think local causes are always well grounded ..

I was thinking I would get around those sorts of issues by finding out locally what is needed, and then rather than bunging the cash at someone, obtain it direct and give them that

What if I promise to distribute it well and not tell the off licence where I got the cash?

No! No! I didn't mean off licence
