Hi Just bought a bus with eyelids fitted which aren't really to my taste. I removed one but when I put the rim back on, there seemed to be quite a big gap left between the headlight and the rim. Is the rim specific to the eyelid or am I being paranoid about the gap? I know it's a billy basic question but totally new to VW ownership.
No such thing as a silly question, although I cannot vouch for the answers! The rims should just go back on, I'm not allowed to removed lizzys eye lids as my wife has threatened me with violence. Brave move bringing up the eye lid debate. Hahaha
The eyelids clip into any of the rims and do not have a specific rim for them. They may however have stretched the rim, is the gap consistent all the way around?
The gaps are pretty big anyway, that's what allowed all the girls and gayers to fit them in the 1st place. You've done the right thing.
At least you've been able to remove them. I once sold a set of early headlights where the eyelids had been fixed on using liquid metal.* I like them but I'm quite able to accept that other people don't. (I just hope the guy who bought the headlights from me does like them. ) *Yes, it as me that glued them on with liquid metal.
Now then Top Banana, less of the stereotyping! As I am a girl and a gayer and have just removed mine! Actually one fell off when I changed the headlights and was easier to take both off than put it back on I'm not keen on them tho.
Harsh top banana! It could also be argued that they are fitted by men hard enough to want to take the abuse and hand out a violent and swift response. Admittedly the probability of that is edging towards zero
Ooh yes please forgot about them. They would look great with eyelids, would look like a bus with conjunctivitis Pm me your PayPal and I'll send you my address
Ironically, if you look closely at my avatar ........... Won't be there when is comes back from the paint shop!
