So how much does a Train driver earn then?

Course they do and a full pension after serving just one term. I don't believe there's a minimum vote so if one person voted they'd get elected. But yes it's part of the reason I don't vote, it just props up the stupid parliamentary democracy we have. Maybe if only 20% voted the other 80% might consider it's time for a revolution eh?

  2. Trouble is revolutions tend to end up as the survival of the fittest, and I’m too slow and fat now so I suspect I’d get eaten.

I’m going do so digging on the pension thing. I never considered they’d get one after just one term. I wonder if it’s a final salary.

Yeah, looks like I got that wrong, it's a 51th salary per year.

  4. Still not a bad number for five years work. Considering the young age that some of the new crop of MPs come in at now. That’s potentially a nice little pot building up for thirty years.

  5. I've been catching up on some of the coverage of the strike as missed quite a bit as been busy. I've been in stitches laughing at the attempted stitch ups from the likes of Morgan and Burley, the shambles that was question time, the lies and baiting from the government and the media and the honest, truthful and straightforward use of "actual facts" by Mick Lynch. If you read the daily mail then you wont like him but if your interested in actual facts then you might see how twisted the reporting of this strike and his actions are. Again one man is single headedly showing our whole system up to be lying and corrupt and whilst the Mail readers and their ilk are lapping it up taking the government line and believing untruths that are disproven not only by facts but by the next untruth pedalled out the actual truth is out there for you if you would like to actually make an informed response not based on not liking someone because they are actually doing their job ad doing it well. The cannon fodder and lickspittles may be against people standing up for themselves but their turn will come.

If your MP did as much to support you as trades Unions do for their members then perhaps they would actually get some respect. Some work very hard to represent their constituents whereas some work very hard to represent themselves, their mates and anyone who will throw some cash their way. So what exactly is this strike about. It seems tome to be about eroding the conditions and wages of working people and making them less secure in their employment, about redundancies etc. and all in the interests of "modernisation and efficiency" Does anyone actually think that they personally will benefit from this in a cheaper and better service. Well ponder upon it whilst your mucking out your Unicorn stable!
