I found 1/8th of hash when I took someone's westy ply roof lining out of an import.

I did but sadly it was about 3 decades past it's sell by date!

  4. What about split charge relays? There seems to be a simple relay which is operated by the ignition feed or a Voltage sensing relay but do either work well on a T2?

Lots of different opinions on this but Ive been running a VSR for 8 years with zero issues.
One of the advantages is that they're highly rated by default..140amps..
We've popped standard relays in the past which happens if the alternator spikes due to an excessively discharged LB if you're daft enough to run an absorption fridge just on DC...who knew lol but it was many many years ago

Alright provided the wires are fused correctly at the battery ends..The wire on the right looks a bit thin for 100 amps...

10 mm2 wire from battery to battery with 30 amp fuses at each end.

Taking a lot longer than I thought. Hopefully get done this weekend. I’ve fitted a second 230v socket in the engine bay which will be more out of the way and better in bad weather than the one half way up the side of the van.

I hope you have made sure they arent connected so you can open the flap on the unused one and touch live pins... or you will discover what tripping an RCD on the campsite side feels like.

I think the usual tester for a live C type inlet is a slug. Power it up slug explodes...

Happened to a friend who was mystified why there was an explosion when he pushed the live socket onto a power inlet plug .

Been away three times so far this year, all on hookup . Just had 4 days in the heat wave and still had ice left in the fridge. Also leisure battery showed 100%. Very happy with that.
