For the ninth year running we started our tour of Yorkshire in Dent, we love the village and the locale is stunning then it should have been on to Hinderwell then down to Spurn Point for a few days as we had never been before. Monday afternoon we got called home urgently as my Dad is terminally ill and the hospital decided we could visit from then onwards. We have always wanted to walk to the top of Flintergill and follow the drovers trail around to Whernside, the weather was pleasant enough so off we headed
The view out towards Sedburgh is awesome but the climb was steep and I struggled a bit.. ...Douglas on the otherhand found the most sloppiest cowpat and rolled in it, head to foot
We enjoyed the village, bumped into one or two we know and relaxed to a cracking sunset! Major performed faultless (aside to the left hand rear drum catching the backplate) and we got 252 miles on £40 worth of fuel. In comparison, Gusbus would have needed a top up in Settle (usually ~£25 worth).
Must visit Dent sometime soon -looks great - so sorry to hear about your Dad - our thoughts are with you.
Sorry to hear about your dad we have just been through it with father in law. We will have to come up again it was lovely, will have to see it the dent festival goes ahead next year.
