Just received an Accuspark SVDA distributor to replace the non-vac 009 in Lizzie Lu. The add on kits come with silicone heat sink grease. Anyone have a view on taking the complete as supplied distributor apart and regreasing it? Probably invalidates the warranty, but if it helps, so what?
The heat sink grease is to help transfer heat from the module to the base plate and increase its life expectancy...... hopefully A
Yes, there doesn't look like much on the new dizzy although they recommend and supply it if you buy the module as a retrofit.
Great cos if you’d said no, I’d have recommended against stripping it down. I don’t expect the ignition module would last long.
So from Snotty's suggestion strip, clean and regrease (with ordinary sort of grease) then when remounting the module use the thermal grease Job done hopefully long service A
Make sure the grease covers the complete base unit, and a thin smear as valve Andy says. I.e not a dollop and squashed down, thin smear full coverage.
