Possibly helps to distance if you all have one ...there is a one way system as a rule ...certainly at many .

Ah, so they’re going looting? I thought they said we’re going to Luton. That’s where I am now. I wondered why no one else was here

  7. They may get a "nice" souvenir from London to take back to the parents...

  8. Take it from me. Get out of town now whilst it’s still daylight.

  9. Yep clap the NHS. Then go to a march packed in like sardines. Take the virus home and to the shops and work. Infect a bunch of people who then need hospital treatment. Exposing those same NHS workers they’ve clapped for weeks to another dose of covid. You couldn’t make it up.

black lives matter obviously. But NHS Staff or police not so much apparently anymore.

    tossers.

  10. I must admit i'm now confused to buggery about how infectious it is and just about everything else associated with it. I posted an "alternative view" from a blogger giving differing information from scientists than the government are spewing out on a camping page on farcebook and got a tirade of abuse saying it was utter thingamewatsits.
I then said that I've never in my lifetime known any government to tell it's people the truth about anything, no matter what it was so why should their figures and ideas be the right information? No one replied.

  11. It’s a coronavirus. All coronavirus’ are very infectious. This one just happens to be a bit more deadly than most of them. When governments lie, its normally to make themselves look better or cover something up. If you look around Europe, every other countries death rates are apparently lower than ours, it would be a bit weird for our government to tell a lie that makes them look worse than everyone else.

There’s differing opinions amongst scientists on pretty much every single issue. One says he can prove its black, the other can equally prove its white. In the end you’ve just gotta find a bit of middle ground. Which is why SAGE has fifty members, to give a bit of balance. We are three months into the pandemic and still globally there’s absolutely no consensus in the scientific community on something as simple as whether face masks actually make much of a difference.

I actually think this government on the whole has been fairly transparent. They have put up a senior cabinet minister everyday to answer unseen questions from a hostile media and the general public. They’ve released all the open source code for the tracking app. They put their hands up and admitted that they bought a load of all carp ppe from Turkey.

They’ve mishandled a few things, obviously numbnuts Cummings didnt help. But the government have put up very senior doctors and scientific advisers every day, these people arent saying they are being ignored by ministers.

Unfortunately I’m not surprised you received a tirade of abuse on the internet, it happens a lot when someone voices an opinion that the majority disagree with. People like to say how much they value free speech in this country, but only if the person is saying what they agree with.

  12. If you look at the UK statistics for all races in police custody over the last 10 years you are 25% more likely to die if you are white, but that's just statistics, I think all lives matter personally.
But that's not excusing the horrific actions of the American police force, just don't think it's an issue in the UK so no idea why the protest under these circumstances.

  16. Funny that they didn’t protest last week just after the incident in America unfolded,
But then the weather was better and they thought let’s go to beauty spots and beaches around the country and leave crap everywhere ,
Now this weekend weather is not so good so let’s go and annoy the establishment instead :D

  17. I was reading BBC news.

Of those arrested, 79% were white and 85% of those who died in custody were white.

Meanwhile, 9% of people arrested were black (which is disproportionally high) and 8% of those who died in custody were black.

So, over the last 10 years, a white individual who has been arrested was about 25% more likely to die in custody than a black individual who had been arrested.

  19. So white people represent 86% of the population and 85 % of those who die in custody are white - makes sense!

Black people make up 3% of the population but 8% of those who die in custody are black.

so... as an individual, if you are black you are almost 3 times more likely to die in custody than a white person!

Wonder why the statistics are presented in the way they are. Almost like someone is trying to normalise the situation doesn’t it. I wonder why people are protesting.

unless of course the numbers I quoted aren’t true. The graphs are subtly different aren’t they,
