I'm looking at replacing the Exhaust on my 79 2L Bay , What is considered the best update Vs stock please ? Stainless Steel ? Thanks for your help
Just looking at the Vintage Speed Superflow Exhaust System 1700-2000cc. £450 ish I think it would look better on the bus ? But anyone got a photo of the CSP Fitted ?? Thanks for getting back to me on this
He did, his blew from the joins to the heat exchangers, I recall him checking ours out to see if he'd done summat wrong
My CSP has been fitted a few years now and I’ve just changed the 2.0l engine for a 2.3l and it still works well. And it hasn't fallen apart like (some of) the VS do. But if you just want something that looks good you’ll be happy with the VS with it’s nice shiny silencer across the back of the bus.
Honestly before you buy one, have a look around there will be a place locally that will make custom stainless exhausts and it's worth an ask, show them a picture of the CSP one. ..... because scene tax
I'm running one of these; It's all titanium and designed for a Bugatti Veyron, but it's all VAG innit? I had to hammer in the ends a bit, added some cheap flexi & some angle iron for support & bob's your uncle.
Generally start off by choosing stainless steel. The more stock your engine the less you need a fancy exhaust. Apart from Monza style, just about anything other than a stock exhaust will allow a little more power on a stock engine. It will also change the sound of your bus. If you like the putt putt noise then a stainless stock clone may be best e.g. GSF.
Been running mine since October 2010 - zero problems. https://vwspeedshop.com/product.php?productid=16719&cat=&page=1 paid 395 back then Would happily purchase again FYI - Its a lot noisier than stock.
