I eventually drilled holes in the floor and ran mine under the cellar, your ocd wouldn't have liked my massive cables in front of the fire place
I drilled holes in my wooden floor..to sink 4 inch cross head screws into the concrete floor underneath so my stand spikes would sit in them sod the cables..better the shorter they are.
I did borrow a pair of PMC speakers from a mate of mine and in all honesty they were amazing...but light beechwood was unfortunately a no go
I need to do something with my amp the left channel sounds good but I sometimes have to poke a fat stick tight between the amp speaker terminal to get it to come on..I think there is a dry solder joint on the board...I’ve looked inside but it’s not obvious
Oooh I appear to have just bought an amp on eBay..... dammit I wasn’t going to go 2nd hand again. Hey ho! Cambridge Audio azur 651A. Need a phono pre amp to go with it, but I’m okay with that. Gulp.
Thanks for the offer, I appear to have bought it (gulp) but she offered free postage in the end! Should it not work and I need someone to go round and ruff ‘er up a bit, I’ll give you a shout
Well it arrived.... Still slightly dubious about eBay 2nd hand but all signs good so far, nice sound and very pokey Unfortunately it turned up 2 days earlier than expected so I’ve not got a phono pre amp yet... still can’t listen to me records; but I am slightly excited by the mp3 socket on the front and so am amusing myself with that. Easily pleased, that’s me.
Here's mine , collected over a few years from ebay , mainly , after getting rid of a stack system. Thorens td160 , Nad amp 3140 , Nad cd player 514 and a pair of TDL RTL 3 speakers. Pretty good sound even on a laminate floor.
What d’ya reckon @snotty? I was hunting around in the loft for some stuff to sell (old radio, graphic equaliser, speakers, that kind of thing) and found this old beauty..... it still powers up, I’m tempted to connect it up and see.....
