We've had couple of vans without hook up and have used the extension and ran it through a window. I think the one we have now has a USB port and a light on too so is handy for charging phones etc and can also be used at outside light.
Hello and welcome from down south in the New Forest. Good luck with the travels, sounds like the start of some great adventures... and I can heartily sympathise with the camper vs tent decision!
Welcome. I have a a Devon too. As far as the hook up is concerned the danger is if something goes wrong with the lead through the window. Unlikely I know, but you don't want the bus to become a live 240v metal cage... Fitting a proper hook up means the body is earthed and there are circuit breakers too.
Greetings from not sunny Scotland. Ho0e your European trip goes well. Ultimately I am planning something similar. Shall look forward to hearing how fabulous it is. Best wishes Pete Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
This weekend we got back from our jaunt around Belgium, Germany and France. Had a great time and found the camper a great way to travel. The heat made driving a little hairy on the odd occasion (partly due to the worry gauge)! We managed 1025 miles over two weeks and stayed in some great campsites and a few stellplatz (mobile home parking facilities in Germany and France). The stellplatz/campingplatz are a cheap and easy way to use a camper - as long as you have access to a toilet of some sort - we took a portable 'bucket' loo. Only thing I would say was that the choice of fuel in France (everything that is unleaded 95 has 10% added Ethanol which I think our old 1600 engine didn't really like too much). Anyone else had a problem with this? Will definitely be doing another trip like this in the future. Photos to follow
First stop - Oostende, Belgium Stellplatz in the Eifel, Germany Altenahr, Germany Alongside the Mosel, in a vineyard, Germany Condette, France These are a few of the places we stopped. Some free, some very expensive. All for two nights maximum. Would recommend, especially stellplatz - used app called camperstop. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thank you. Van did need a bit of work though on return due to v high temperatures. Retune and replacement of all 4 plugs which were blue. As said before the E10 fuel wasn't kind to her. Will use the slightly more expensive 98 RON on future forays across the water. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
the e10 comes out yellow only my lawn mower likes it.... a scooby conversion would'nt even run on it... Glad your engine survived...
