7/7 was far far worse 700 + injured 50+ dead and the IRA did their share in the terrorist attacks in the 70s/80s - that was when the security forces learnt a lot of lessons
There are some shocking images appearing, 1 of a poor chap that jumped over the side of the bridge, his left leg has taken the impact
Unfortunately there is very little that the security forces can do in these kind of cases. Probably a loner with no phone traffic to listen in to.
Said the same just now...very hard to know what an individual is plotting....but very easy to stop the radicalisation openly taking place on the streets of our country however we seem to let them carry on....something needs to be done
I guess we all need to be more aware of what's going on around where we are .only last week i tackled a guy trying to take a girls phone ,he said she was his girlfriend and they were having a tiff,it all happened so quick like a lot of these sort of things
The perp was pretty frickin stupid though. The Houses of P are surrounded by concrete bollards and scores of police, poss the most protected building in the country. What did he think he was going to do, break in? Of course he was going to get holed. Just a shame it wasn't sooner. Looks like the police did a fabulous job.
think this was done to create maximum publicity and what better place than parliment , and he knew he,d die for the cause , if he,d got to some of parlimentry occupants it would be a bonus for him and rumour on the net is he,s a known hate preacher
One of my mates was in the House of Lords and rang to tell me they were in a lockdown incident. She was telling me Westminster bridge was full of ambulances then it came on the radio so I could tell her what was happening outside. Horrible for all involved
Yes. Difficult to know what to say really. As some have already said we knew this was coming. It will happen again sadly. RIP to all those, bar one, who lost their lives today
We could be blessed with the Tunisian police who faint, hide, take off the uniform and blend with the crowd or drive the other way.
My thoughts are with the poor families that have lost a loved one life will never been the same... A needless disregard for human life and for what exactly.
