It truly goes to show with the right planning you really can go to paradise in a old van. It's appropriate that the type of camper David has is a landmark because that is absolutely what it is. Total respect to David and his Dad for having the courage and endurance to do it.
Another thing I learned is 195 tyres are the best for these old buses you don't get blown around on the motorways even on a head wind if that make sense. The bus handle brilliantly.
Spoke to Rick today Dave and Rick said it sounds like the exhaust needs tightening up. He said call him if your unsure fella
Ahhh Alvor - If you are still there send my regards to Edgar aka the softly spoken man - he runs the beach beds outside the 5 Quinas beach bar on alvor town beach. Also say hi to the guys in Capacho - best steak portuguese i reckon, the black pork is pretty good too. I'll be there early September if you stay that long..... Enjoy!
Trust you've been to Bolan Bar for cachaca fuelled ******* up too... If you end up at O Pinheiro for a late one watch out for Rocky the owner he'll keep your glass topped up and take your money. @Baysearcher pulled a man Fado dancer there on the first night and didn't leave the apartment for the rest of the week stating food poisoning but I think he had a sore bottom for a different reason...
