Thanks for the info I just need to find the number starting SO.... Now, it's not on the plate riveted to the o/s/f wheel arch only the serial number & year of manufacture as 1972. Any clues welcome !
Loving the you tube clip, so pleased you didn't go down the Barry Manilow route! Kinks, very cool & the clip is from the same year as our bus - superb
To calm any uprising in the ranks I have just been trying to upload the few pics I have, however pics on my iPad are to large.... So a quick run down on how to upload pics would be useful please. (I'm much better with valves & pistons - honest)
Really struggling to load photo's, can not seem to get photobucket to do its thing! I am not beat yet though
I take photos on phone and upload via Tapatalk, takes about 10 seconds from taking pic to it being on here!
Hello from Shardlow... You are looking for a plate like this on the bed board front or screwed to one of the cabinets.
Thanks guys, found the plate on front of the bed board, and it's the same as in the picture Busmonkey posted - Campmobile 70, so would that be known as a Moscow or Campmobile 70 ? Just trying to get my head around what's what! I hope you can all see the four piccys I have posted, first two just after we collected her from Exeter we drove straight to Exmouth to see the Sea! Then 250 miles home! Second to last weekend in Weymouth doing what she was built for. So we have covered the best part of 800 miles in 2wks, she has only done 1700 in the last 5 years !
Because we are special It's how she came, front is good & correct, rear is bent where PO reversed into something & is the wrong type. The grand plan is use as is this summer, then full proper repaint (all glass out, doors off ect) starting in October. She looks much better in pictures than her paint really is. In between time away in her I,m going through the mechanics so far: full service, pushrods oil seals, gear linkage coupling, bushes & empi quick shift, HT Leads.
on a K reg it should be a lowlight front if it's an early crossover but it has a late front and early bumper, however it has a late rear bumper..... mix and match,
Yes seemed a little odd to me too, however she's never been welded, front panel all original you can still see all the original factory spot welds. She was built in May 72 to U S spec & factory collected in Germany - I'm guessing American Serviceman stationed there...? Would love to find out more, plan to write to address in the Service Book (1st Owner ) see if I can learn a little more. Will replace r/bumper at repaint to match front.
is there a deformation panel behind the front bumper? i think they did a low front without, then a high without, then a high with, you might have one of the "few" early high fronted ones, but as i say i've seen L reg with a low front and never a K with a high unless replaced.
