  5. I just like seeing people go fast and then crash...:D

maybe no suspension needed, if you used some big volume tyres.....?
try and get hold of some 'comp pools' made by Tioga...top slicks for 20 inch BMX rims

For the tyre advice, or the fact he wants to see you crash????
I got rebuked for using "the C word", this is blatant favouritism!!! :-(

  8. Tyre advise, I think he's a pro with bicycles.

You'll need some experimentation with tyres and tyre pressures. If you have tyres that are very wide and soft to provide suspension you'll have a lot of rolling resistance to overcome.
Low centre of gravity, (ballast low down along the bottom of the tub).
Stronger wheels than a bike has. (@vanorak should be able to advise)
High tyre pressures, (less rolling resistance = more speeeeeeeeed).
Good reliable steering (saves hurtling into the crown).
Good reliable suspension, (saves spinal injuries)

  10. Thanks for the pointers, I'm quite a way off from thinking about tyres at the moment but no doubt it'll creep up on me before I know it

  17. Those wheels in the previous pic will be more than strong enough...they look like straight laced 48 spokers....not the lightest of rims mind
I'd go for some lighter rims up front....28 spoke Sun or Halo racing wheels...skinny....ask @Moons ...I think he's up on his BMX stuff

    Morning @Beaver :)

I've only just read they this thread and I'm v excited and a bit nervous for you, all rolled into one.
Maybe go faster stripe to hide/hold together the join? I'm a bit concerned about the edges of the log cut out and if you crash and fly forward into the log it will actually cut you in half! How will you protect/cover those edges?
I've got a motorbike jacket that may fit you to protect your back a bit?

I'm going to get on a lap top and watch last years to see what it's all about.

Have you copy writed your drawings? Maybe @sANDYbAY has nicked the idea and the being in holland is a ruse?!

And lastly.......hurrah!!! You Go Girl :)

  19. Morning Alex,

Thanks for caring about my safety. We've got a load of foam pipe lagging at work so was going to stuck that over the cut edge of the plastic and I'll probably wear my motorbike jacket and gloves for a bit of protection.

The rules say I have to wear a helmet they provide and my own gumshield to stop my teeths getting mangled.

I'm just finishing off the last bit of my application this morning, then off to the post office to get it sent. My neighbour has very kindly made me a photo slideshow/video/annimation thing to send in too.

Then I can get back to the fun stuff of building it.

We shall send positive vibes for them to accept your entry :) are there many women that enter it? Lets hope for some positive discrimination!
