Anyone else watch this? Comedy on BBC4, written by Mackenzie Crook, we only found it by chance. Not laugh out loud but we love it .
I wasn't expecting too much from this but it's brilliant! I watched the first three episodes consecutively on iplayer and looking forward to the next one. I did laugh out load at the scene where they're out in the field when suddenly there's a group of low flying fighter planes which they are oblivious to.
Watched the first one last week... Is it already up to episode 3?! I "lol'd" at the opening scene with the "medal" and a few other bits.... worth a watch!
I've enjoyed it, makes a change to see Mackenzie Crook not play the idiot, conversley an unsure if thoughtful sex interest character sits with him that well! Put it this way, I literally switched channel and The Office was on, the scene where he points at the Swindon girl's foo foo and tells her he isn't going there after Tim unless Tim wore a condom which was lol. It's different and very British, nice to have a bit of gentle humour for a change.
I agree. I think it's one of those comedies where they just seem to have found the right cast. Toby Jones is really good. Funny you mention The Office, another great ensemble piece and another gem that was initially hidden away in the schedules, for people to "discover". Don't think this is quite on the same level as the Office, but it's way and above a lot of the dross that gets served up as comedy these days.
heard an interview with him the other week on radio 2 talking about this, i'd forgotten all about it until this thread so am catching up on i player, it's not bad actually i quite like the subtle comedy and anything without "canned laughter" is a plus.
I really like it, the countryside scenes are shot nicely as well, makes me want to go camping Also liked the jim'll fix it joke
