  1. Yep your correct.
    Some of us will moan.
    Others will winge.
Some will have a go, and fail.
Some will have a go, and win.
It doesn't really matter what's decided tomorrow. I'll still be living and doing my best to make a go of life for me and my family.

Good luck Scotland whatever you decide ill be fine. :)

  2. we a be ok darn sarf ;)

  3. That's my thinkin. The northern lot are like big thick blanket.
And when the war starts them up there love a scrap! We can just hide behind the sofa. :D

Yet, there the twist. Yer man Salmond is kidding the Scots along the lines of. They will have some control??
What's wrong with that? One - How can he ( no matter how sincere his intentions) guarantee he or his party would be re elected to see things through even if they get the yes vote.

Scots history is riddled with periods like this and the wranglings of the wealthy. The poor will get poorer under independence. They always were before.and I can't see anything changing this time they are being duped again.poor sods!

Quite so, but at least not by some remote bunch of English toffs from Eton so it won't be so far to go and demonstrate - another thing that would be banned if it had any effect other than letting people vent a bit of steam (which is why it's allowed to a degree, as long as you give advance notice, book it with the cops etc. We really are stomped on in the country, it's the most backward political system in the 1st world.

  6. Wooahh. Stop the boat.
There be a first world? :)

  7. so whats the majority got to be on this one then ?

  8. I'd like to think that this whole campaign may have awoken politicians to the fact that the current system is unsustainable in the long term, and that there needs to be some serious consideration to constitutional change. One of the biggest Yes arguments - not being governed by the party Scottish people voted for, is a powerful illustration of the positives of proportional representation. Maybe, just maybe, regardless of the result tomorrow, our politicians might just realise that.

  9. Just my opinion but. All I think it's done is create a bigger divide, no matter what the outcome of the vote.

Cheers Zed, I've been reading a lot of the comments on here, typing replies then deleting them as I don't want to stir things up, you seem to have the right attitude to the whole debate.

Its not an anti English debate, we don't want an enemy, the whole affair is simply about taking control of your own country, making decisions that have a positive effect on the relatively small population.

Forget for a minute the oil revenues etc etc. Everything that is spouted about those means of finance are regurgitated from the same old script, depending on what side of the camp your on... If you know first hand the stats on oil production and oil reserves from a professional and educated standpoint, let us hear it, if your simply going to repeat the Daily mail etc no need its the same old , change the record, there is actually more to Scotland than the oil industry.

Some folk seem to think that we are all alcoholic wife beating bagpipe playing inbreeds. Unfortunately most with that opinion probably haven't even ventured across the border ( that already exists ) preferring to remain in the ghetto they are accustomed. Trust me, you wont be beat up by a ginger haired kilted alcoholic... the stereotype is not the reality..I'm sure many of you are proud Englishmen, I've seen plenty drunk ones abroad in George cross T Marmites and shorts making plenty noise to that effect, but I don't see them as the measure of the English...

Scotland is a great country. Pride in your country and having a belief that things can be better is not a bad thing.

Can you really say with your hand on your heart that if the ball was on the other foot you would do anything different?

I went to the first ever Womad fest. Mostly it was african south american etc,
Then a brit band came on.
"hello, we're The Fall and we're from the first world"
    I nearly *******ed myself.

  13. It certainly has in Scotland, with a virtual 50/50 split it will be very hard to appease whichever side loses tomorrows vote - half the population will not be getting what they wanted whichever way you look at it. Is that really a basis on which to build a strong country? Salmond would't answer how he will bring the no voters round if they do become independent in the interview on Newsnight, he evaded the question, as he seems to have done every time someone asks something pertinent (like all politicians).

  14. I saw live aid on telly. Was it like that? :)

Bigger divide? What divide? Have you been to Scotland? Not to mention we have a vote between opposing political ideologies here every 4 years and get away with it even though hardly anyone votes for the winners due to the corrupt political system. Does that cause more division, or again is that ok because it's what you're used to?

    Here's a question,
How will westminster/big business treat scotland when the oil runs out in 30 years after a no vote? OK right now we have to send up some tax money (if you believe the numbers) to cover our embaressment over nicking it all, but when it runs out will westminster (read England) have "upgraded" Scotland to full economic participation as we claim for ourselves or just leave them in the poo like huge swathes of the North that have nothing worth stealing?

  16. the biggest problem with voting in this way is the majority dont really know what they are voting for n just want to be on the winning side ,sad but true , and what ever anyone says their will always be divide , history proves it .

The strength in our islands was in the unity Salmond is selling you up the river, and the toadies in Westminster are laughing, because he is doing their dirty work.

  18. I'm deffo not into to politics. But I can read people. And that salmnond is the most egotistical maniac I've seen. He's the biggest advert for no I can imagine.

Which century are you referring to?
And I'm interested in why you're so keen on no. I know you drive to Scotland for work, but you don 't live there and AFAIK no Scottish ancestors? In other words, Oscars question. If Scotland vote Yes, how will effect your life? Or would you be as interested if it was a region of say France?
