Okay time for me to ask another silly question. Not a bay, but camper related.

I have a gas or electric fridge in the LT. it works fine on gas, but I cannot fathom out the electric switching yet ( complicated zig unit thingy) Will it be okay to drive with the fridge working off the gas?

I can't see any mention of it in the destructions, however the Truma heater destructions say it is okay to drive while it's on gas operation, so presumed the fridge would be okay too?

    Right. Thanks

I suppose I had better read the destructions then. :)

  5. How do I replace both heater cables on my bus? Type 4 engine if that makes a difference. Is there a knack? For example tie them to the outgoing ones and pull through? Do I grease them up right nice?

I had trouble doing mine - plenty of patience and lots of wd40 would be my tip!

If I remember rightly they come out from the front and have to go back in from the front as well because of the solid crank thing which attaches to the heater controls. I undid mine and pushed and pulled the old one in and out dripping oil onto the cable to work everything free. Once the old one moved smoothly I pulled it all the way out and gently jiggled the new one back in once I'd smeared grease along it.

  8. Sounds like a gd idea. I was going to cut the end solid bits off in the cab and attach the new cable ends to it and pull from the back end. With plenty of lube of course. Think this is necessary? Or should I just go the way of the above? They are without doubt the original cables in there.

Might be best to undo both ends and see if it moves freely first. I'm not sure how you'd attach the two cables end to end without making a thicker section which is obviously the bit which will get stuck.

You can put the end of the old one in a drill while its still in, then run the drill and it will clean out the tube as you pull it out

This and then you'll probably have gas leaking.

Fridge on gas is for when your parked up. Whilst driving you use the battery, once you figure out how to do it.

Take a picture of your zig I'm sure someone can help.
