WANTED Camper Wanted.

Discussion in 'Late Bay Classifieds' started by RM92, Aug 13, 2014.

  1. Looking to buy a camper towards the winter.
Currently have a MK1 Golf Clipper 93 reg that ive restored that i will sell eventually when im finished with her!
So that will go towards the camper fund plus a little more.

so roughly my budget will be around 4000.

Sois this a dreamers budget or is it not too much out of the question?
As ill require something that's drive-able between storage and my house and road legal est.
With some work to be done but not a complete resto.

    Thanks!

let me know what you all think!

for 4k you might get a roadworthy one with no interior that needs a lot of work but i dunno, buying in the winter may get it cheaper to be honest 4k is low to get a rough import so i wish you good luck.

  3. well i cold squeeze to 5k i reckon but if that would get me more camper for my money then surely itll be worth it!

have a look on the for sale areas both on here and on the earlybay site, you will get something but it won't be pretty for that money, the "value" of these vans has rocketed and a lot of people live in dreamworld.

  5. I see, im not after a minter and i want a few challenges just dont want something ill be putting my foot through! even a panel van would be good! thanks for your input though

You'll find something but it'll be rough as a dogs arse.
You'd be better saving for another year to be honest.
Unless you can do all the work yourself, and have a lot of spare time, its bloody expensive restoring these old sheds.

any help ask away, look at some of the resto threads some people paid 10k and got a dog..... there's a few lads on here who import and will have a "decent" rust free that needs panel work or full interior

  8. Yes Im happy to put in a full interior and do some panel work :) my dads a welder by trade so he can help. just dont want to lump him with too huge a job! a good starter van basically that i can build up over years to come!
Thankyou for your help ill keep looking! better keep saving them pennies!

    Complete bus with engine
    Recent import
    £5500 Ono
    Good project for someone
My cheapest bus is 3800 but needs welding and engine
    Cheers

  11. You need to be looking at American imported buses. You will get a much better non rusty bus for your money

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

Mine was £4K 3 years ago and needed a new cargo floor, repairs to the sliding door and sill and everything inside.
There are still £4-5K buses that are ok, even RHD ones, but they take some looking for and a bit of luck.

  13. Even a panel van would be good! Watta ya mean even a panel van would be good!!

  14. Best ask around your local area and local clubs , sometimes there's a rough diamond waiting to be found ...ours was 3.5k a year and a half ago ....on the road but as above needs a hell of a lot of work and gas limited interior...

  15. thanks all for advice! and offers. Im going to have to take it all into consideration.

  16. Just sent you a pm, I have a decent solid project bus which might be within reach
