Love the demountable cooker unit and some really nice touches....looks like it'd be a great practical bus to camp in....top job! Do Dickies.... How about a seat cushion to go on top of the base of the cooker unit, when removed? or is that your cunning plan to to use the base as a bed support?
Yes I did made a cushion for the top base unit as well, same color as the rear bench, you' ll see that later on my last holisays pics!
My first problem wasn' t my interior actually!.... renting a cheap garage was.... but all this garages are quite low in France. Good excuse to drop my camper van. I bought a sway a way, a pair of dropped spindles (made by Black Hands France, a genius!), and rear spring plates from Creative engineering (top quality). So we had to dismantle the front part to install the complete kit....Here is the result!!! ...one inch from the main door opened!.....
...But I needed to lift the bus up a bit, I did rub the stab bar everywhere.... so I needed to modify my roof window... cutting the diamond, and made a bespoke white altuglass (4mm) to replace it. Everything is fixed with scews and Silkaflex (white). that will allow more space to set the front suspensions.
The base of the front face has been awfully remade a while ago.... with resin, I decided to clean it up a bit, and nice surprise..... more than 1 cm deep with rivets and metal sheet . Mental.
Love your interior, brave colour choice, very 1970's Habitat stylee. @Dicky It's good to see some bravery on the interior front ne c'est pas?
as it' s not my job and as I wanted to be welldone, I gave the front face to be properly repaired by a professionnal in VW bus and Cox in Grenoble France. A genius.
Here are the pics from the day I' ve re painted the bus.... 2 weeks before my wedding, outside, sunny day, a spray gun, a compressor, masking tape, sand paper.... and go! that was a 16 hours job, by myself, not an absolute perfect result, but I' m happy with that! Primer grey paint: and blue paint...one coat:
