Blimey I'm home 2x as far and stopped for a Sunday lunch on the way back.

Your brake lights need a look-at Andy, a bad earth at a cluster possibly. :)

  2. I am home after the second leg. Kerry beat me home from Northampton by 5 minutes in the Tiguan. Not slow buses after all are they really.

They are joined so it's probably one side, can't tell which. Think 1 rear light came on when you braked, but no brake lights. Indicators worked fine though. Maybe bulb/socket earth. You'll have to fiddle. lol

  6. Well done, saved a bit on fuel at least!!!

What was the prognosis from the RAC man?

  7. Sorry I couldn't be any more help

You decided to stop at the perfect moment. Just round the corner was a steep hill that went up, and up, and up, and up some more.

  9. I ask because when we where away in Devon my brake lights failed and when I checked it was the wiring into a new brake light switch, again when we went away they failed again, they worked when I bypassed the new brakelight switch so I replaced that and they worked again! Your now telling me that both brakelights aren't working again? If that is the case I am not sure what to do next other than check or replace wiring! What do you think????

  10. I thought they were working earlier on. Rear left as you look at them was brighter though.

Maybe the brake light switch is adding resistance and a poor earth/ bad connection works OK when you bypass the switch?

  15. Glad all the late bayers enjoyed the show, Marcus who helped organise clubs etc ( my son) said you guys were a pleasure to deal with... (Apparently not everyone is even though these things are meant to be fun!) think you have earned big brownie points for volksworld!

  16. RAC man wasn't very chatty. He thought the float in the carb was upside down but I thought there was only one way it could go. It's getting looked at on weds. Fingers crossed!

  17. At least we have the brightest brake lights (as if anyone needed alerting to the fact we were slowing down!)

Interesting, we wondered about a float problem. More likely something stuck in the valve, I'm sure you couldn't fit it upside down. lol.
