After watching a you tube video of sweet child of mine on the ukulele I had to buy one. I have been up till two in the morning trying to play it, it's at work with me now. I will never take it camping though, I have had to camp next to someone with a guitar once! Anyone else play one? Mega addictive!
Yep. Me and the kids have been playing since Christmas. In fact I've just treated myself to a new electric accoustic solid maple top uke. Still sound crap though so it must be me Seriously though it is a fun instrument and easy to get going on. Have fun.
I've had a uke a couple of years now. They're the ultimate travel guitar ......even if they're not a guitar.... Ukulele Hunt is a good resource....
Well I can play guitar so I'm at an advantage, that you tube clip I mentioned is my goal in the next few weeks, I have the first bit down. Love it.
I bought my daughter a nice one for her birthday. She played it for about a week. Check out the ukulele orchestra, they're fantastic
I have four ukes and a mandolin. Still a beginner but progressing. No harm in taking them with you - get a good sing song going. These small instruments are ideal for a camper, can't understand how those '60s hippies had room for guitars in their splitties!
