  1. 2 x idle speed screw, you need to ensure they stay in sync when messing, so either buy a sycronometer, or get someone to do it for you that has.

  3. This is what I have. I need to have the carbs set up properly & linkages modified. Pedal a bit spongy, not starting great, and flat spots when I excellerate too hard.

  4. @Dicky @zed what a f.wit! Fuel banjo's were wrong! Yes was trying to run 1 carb via a pin hole....Running better, need to set idles then RR session.

Had my fair share of genuine set backs with this, duff filter and dodgy hoses, blocked idles hopefully on the other side!

  5. Finally, finally, got this running right.

So pleased, the issues seemed like they were never going to end! Put an electric pump on in the end, which seemed to help - think I had petrol in the oil. Also although I had set the floats (second time around) to the exact mm, I think the fuel height was too high (looking at EZGZ on YouTube).

I also didn't think about the amount of solder that may be languishing in the emulsion tubes after blocking the holes. Cleared these internally the best I could with a drill bit. Also think one of the idle jets was loose, the screwdriver can bind, which can catch you out if your doing it blind. I also found a little crud in one of the idle jets which would not have helped my most recent frustrations.

Now I feel confident taking her to a rolling road, only taken 3 months! With a FT job and family this stuff takes a whole lot longer nowadays!

  6. Is that a pop at the fuel pipes ?

  7. That linkage does not look right to me, the cable is to the right of the bell crank, on mine it's to the left. The rods are at a strange angle, mine seem straighter. Have a look at post 85 on this thread.

Hi all sorry to dig up an old thread.

Just wondering if anyone had a photo of how they routed their accelerator cable for this linkage? I have this linkage with a set of HPMX on 73 Bay 1800. Cable coming through original hole is on a 45 degree angle.
