latest news is @Greenwesty has dropped me a working relay off at ed's so it will at least eliminate the relay, gonna double check starter wires and check that air reg thing too, keep everything crossed for me i plan to go over this afternoon.

where does the thin red wire on the starter that should "trigger" the relay (but isn't connected on mine "come out") i want to test it for continuity from the starter to wherever it should go before i just connect it.

    this answers that then

  17. It 'should' go into DR slot 86A, that's why I suggested you need to test this first before doing anything else. If it works then it's the DR at fault, if you get nothing then I'd suggest its the cable between starter and DR.

it's never gonna work as it's never been connected..... summat fishy obviously! ok cool heading over in an hour or so, just getting notes sorted and some wire etc.

just so i know - the terminal on the solenoid that the trigger to the relay goes on should only be live when cranking yes? i ask because my old starter had 2 lucars and the replacement only one so i'll need to piggy it off that (not the nut one the spade one)

  20. correct
