I've done a Google search and it throws up Gingers Aircooled in Waterlooville and Solent Garage Services in Curdridge. Can anyone recommend the above or any others in or around Hampshire? I'm just below Winchester. I'm looking specifically for a what I think is a rear inner wheel arch repair, a 240V hookup and a few subtle trim improvements. Maybe a service too. Thanks
@davidoft ?? In Southampton there's a good guy down at ocean village, not sure if he does bodywork though In totton I've just been recommended a guy I was vaguely aware of, can get you some details if you like? Where are you specifically? I'm in Southampton, but no use at all! Davidoft is very good btw, I'm a shatisfied customer. He will also pee in your compost bin on request!
I'm in Chandler's Ford but willing to travel for someone who knows their buses! I have a hole in the top of the wheel arch bit which you access by lifting the rear seat (Devon conversion) which needs plating/repairing. Otherwise just the subtle upgrades to the electrics as I mentioned Oh and a fridge/coolbox, mine's missing.
I know it may be a bit far, but I would definitely vouch for Andy @ VW Farnborough centre. He's just off the M3, so maybe not that far for you.
Ah you're only 5 minutes from me then. If I can be of any assistance let me know? I have good piano playing fingers and a variety of stuff
Hi Lew, I'm from down south too and the guy i use is a chap called Glynn, top bloke won't rip you off, he's from Totton, his misses is just about to have their second kid, so he will be unavailable for a little while, I'm seeing him on Thursday and will inquire for you.
We lived in Totton and used to go up to Farnham to Grant at Beetlelink. Bit of a hike but excellent work. For MOTs etc, Pete at Blackfield garage services (just past Hythe )
Thanks everyone. Will sort something out once I've picked up the van this weekend. I'm also looking for a Devon table and table leg. Anyone got any spares?
I am lead to believe that Stuart is very good, give him a ring, go & have a look. http://www.carbodyrepairs-portsmouth.co.uk I've spoken to him and seen pictures of his work But I have no experience.
Ahh no electric is a problem and no space too, I have a workshop on Hayling island too. I carry welding gear tools etc, but I can't keep any electricity in the car, health and safety . I can carry out the work at my place if it's not viable to do it at yours
That's my dads garage, I do the spraying and welding for him on the classic cars between my own jobs.
Finally got round to taking pictures of the rot needing attention. These are the only 2 spots requiring attention on the van. I have no idea how/why they were missed off! Would require the wooden interior removed temporarily I am sure. Nearside rear arch Offside rear arch Unfortunately I think water is bring brought up by the wheels and into the cabin through these holes, so would like them plated up!
