Couldn't be much further away mate; I'm in Bristol!
I don't know anyone over that way who's had it done.
If you go to Techenders in April you're more than welcome to a go in mine.

Don't start the 1641 debate. It gets the purists frothing at the mouth even more so than the Scooby one!

To be fair my bogo 1600 powered me around France several times without missing a beat....

  14. Hi there had a ge code 2 litre engine In bus done a top end rebuild stuck the engine in and the bloody lifters kept going solid so I took them out re bled them stuck them back in all was fine for about 5 mins then started to play up so I brought a 1700 rebuilt engine to stick in which needed a dizzy going to my van on sat but thinking of selling both engines with new exhaust and bits and stick a subaru engine in with the money from the two engines I am going round in circles lol

  15. I see!! Its an expensive way of fixing a problem but if youve got the cash then sure you will enjoy it. Theres probably a number of us that have considered this.

  16. I will try the 1700 first as I have brought new clutch stainless exhaust and gone for a vacuum advance dizzy new it's skinting me out I just want to drive my bus it's all painted new wheels new deluxe rubbers new deluxe trim can't wait to get the old girl on the road now

  17. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

I've considered it but £6k all at once is beyond my means and my steering is poo anyway.
Thought about DIY but when you see the lovely job the professional converters do I know mine would be Heath-Robinson and I wouldn't be happy with a bodgy install. Mine goes fast enough for me most of the time, I only occaisionally want more.

  18. Yeah my friend has done one and it looks the nuts but his bloody missus has just had a baby so his not aload to play at mo lol

  19. Well we're doing Bristol to Edinburgh in June.

And also done Bristol- Bordeaux and been to the Alps to see Mont Blanc...

    But....

If you mean without stopping for a night or two on the way - you're right!

  20. Anyway, I'm all show and no go - see ya in the slow lane....
