77 Ltrs of 6.5% American Pale Ale now in mini kegs and bottles. Kegs will be ready in 2 weeks, bottles 2 weeks later.
Thats the same press and shredder I have, good bit of kit I've had mine for about 20 years. This year for the 1st time due to the amount I was making (16 gallons) I took the handle wheel off and attached a large drill, lazy i know but it sped up the process quite alot. Had to cover the top of the shredder with a fermenting bin lid to stop the apples flying out.
We have been struggling to get our bottled beer to be carbonated and as clear as possible so in an effort to fix that we have decided to try some secondary fermentation using these bad boys: We are making 80Ltrs of 5.5% Mild tomorrow.
I have heard good things about the Woodfordes Wherry @Mucka if you fancy a session bitter. Bottled over 140 pints of our 5.5% Mild last night, shelves are starting to get a bit full and we have 100 ptrs sat in the fermenter.
Just working my way through a barrel of Woodfords Old Nog , Very dark stout kind of beer , cream colored head and a distinct licorice flavour, bloody lovely!
Well they say bad news comes in threes so after my brewing partner didn't close the lid on the HLT we managed to boil off 20 litres of water overnight. We then blocked our Hop Back which meant emptying twice the amount of hops into our Copper to try and get the right bitterness and aroma. Then we opened the garage to find this.... That is not oil from the camper on the floor Anyway we are now all sorted for Christmas with a 4% session ale, a 5.5% Ruby Mild, a 5% Oatmeal stout and a 7% American IPA.
is that a barrel that has leaked .... out of interest how big is your set up, whats the story behind your brewery and do you sell to the pubs ..?
