Who do you believe ? I don't give either side any credibility. My gut feeling is that Scotland can't afford it.

  7. I've spent most of my life in Scotland and although the notion of being independent is attractive, economically I don't think it makes sense. Most of the people I know who are still in Scotland don't want it. The majority of Scottish people I know also think Alex Salmond is a *****!
Apart from that, if you've been to Scotland in the last 5 or 10 years you'll have noticed its full of bloody English people, all the scots have left for whatever reason!

  8. ^this.

  9. My understanding is this, most intelligent scots don't want it and the economical logistics are a nightmare. I work as an estate agent (for my sins) and have met two English couples looking to relocate in the last 3 months, both citing the independence movement for the reason to return. This sounds all a bit dramatic but there seems to be some fear from them that it will happen. Having said that the jocks that live here tell me it will never happen... Anyway I want to get away in the bus up to Highlands at some point and I don't want a passport renewal for that!

That's the impression the government are giving. I think the Scottish independents are pinning their hopes on European help!

  11. When North Sea oil supplies dwindle, they're going to have to rely on the novelty shortbread industry, which is just unsustainable.

I want to know why we still have whining Scots in the mother parliament when they have their own.

Let the ginger haired freaks go and not back when it fails.
