Which seats fit?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by 1050Ron, Sep 14, 2013.

  1. The seats in my van aren't original and they are proper un comfortable I can't reach the pedals unless I sit forward a bit.I fancy some comfy seats with head rests maybe I've heard a rumour Saab seats fit is this true??.

  2. Saab 95 sests fit just fine. I have a pair of leather sests with headrests, both with tilt action to help you reach the peddles!

  3. Cheers mate I will keep my eye open on flea bay I bet the prices are high if they know bays can use them!! I definitely need the tilt action I can hardly reach the pedals!

Porsche tombstones... 944 are pretty common. We bought ours off a guy in high Wycombe who breaks 944s

Tbh, any flat bottomed seats should be able to fit. Volksworld suggested that Mgf seats didn't need the original runners to be removed, which I don't believe.

The 944 tombstones are very comfy, but may benefit from a few degrees of backwards lean on the seat base!

Saab seats have chunky seat bases which may not be good if you're tall in the torso

  14. the bay im building at the min has mx5 seats which are comfortable and plenty full, but ive had recaro's from a rs turbo and 944 seats in vans before and there good too.
remember you need a seat with a thin base or you will be sat to high

  15. I Didn't realise there was that much of a choice thank you for the reply,s I will have to have a look at all of them and decide which I like best and will be the easiest to fit!

  16. I bet the Porsche ones look cool but I bet there not cheap!

I got mine for £64 and we reupholstered them ourselves. The 944 ones have no gizmos or tricks so aren't expensive. 911, 928s etc are all based on the same seat and come with a few more expensive trinkets!

  19. mk1 mx5 seat is same shape as the 944 and 911 tombstone but slightly narrower which is why i fitted them in mine gave £60 for a mint pair from local scrappy
