Chapel St Leonards

  1. Mrs Robo says it's going to me a nice weekend so the plan is to have a one nighter on the east coast and although we do like Mablethorpe it was Chapel that sprung to mind...

The idea is to travel light and have a no frills night away by the coast. So the search is on to find somewhere to pitch camp for Saturday night, It was disappointing to see the Lincs section of the TLB holidays & campsites is virtually empty so any suggestions on sites ?

Mrs TW and her kids spent many caravan holidays there, long before me. Can't think were and she is out but it was a very long time ago so no good really, I'll shut up now.

  3. Mrs Robo is on the case & will find us somewhere, it appears Lincs is an area greatly unexplored by TLB'ers.

Mablethorpe was the destination of my childhood & we used to go for three weeks every year.

We plan to take the old route we used to travel from Leicester in my mums old beetle which will be Melton, Grantham, Tattershal picnic area and then onto Chapel, can't wait :D

  11. Well I had started to write up our weekend by the sea only to nip out of the office to load something into my car ready to go Peterlee tomorrow, I came back to my desk & an IT bod was sat at my desk installing the latest AutoCAD software on my PC & had closed everything down

    So in short, we travelled...

Stopped at Tattershall for a picnic...

Arrived & went straight down the beach...

Fish & chip tea a few hours in the arcades, back to the van kids into bed & a few of these...

Up after a good nights sleep to test out my newly installed hob in a drawer, worked very well...

Kids played in the roof whilst we packed up...

  12. After packing the van we set off in search of some breakfast & found this place...

    It was very good :D...

We walked down to the sea front and followed the footpath towards Chapel village centre, it was glorious...

After a while we found this...

A pub called The Admiral Benbow on the sea front set into the sand dunes, how cool is that...

    Kids went on the rides...

I bought a solar powered dancing Monkey for my dash...

We walked back along the sea front & the kids dragged us into the arcades again...

Then back to the van & travelled home...

All in all we had a fabulous weekend, it was so chilled and is exactly what we were after when we bought the Robowagon last year, first time we have properly relaxed and smiled & forgot all about stuff back home of recent weeks...

As for the site it cost us £20 for a pitch with hook-up, it was clean, secure, the toilet & shower block we used was very well looked after. There was a new toilet block further into the site but we had no need to visit it...

This is the website http://www.eastviewcaravans.co.uk/ its five minutes from the arcades & shops etc. & then another five minutes further your at the sea, when we booked the lady put us in a pitch near reception as she said she liked VW campers & wanted to see it or she just wanted to keep an eye on us, either way the pitch was massive and would return again plus recommend if your ever out that way...
