  1. hay dicky, id happily help you but you are a million miles away from me:p

  2. purple haha its like your trying to brain wash purple into my head hummm. if i do it a different colour ill do a little bit purple just for you:D

might get some metal and give the door a bash, just a little worried about bodging it and then ill have no door,
yes the recess will be going but thats a job for when i make a start on tidying and finishing all the body before a skim of filler and primer

zed cheers bud. would 1.2 mm metal be ok for this or would you go a little thicker??
and i take it that the door is just a frame then with a skink over it so all i would have to do it cut away the top skin at the top (down to the bulge)

  7. been a while since uploading, have been working on the van just been a bit lazy in updating.

ive got the whole week off this week and was hoping to get 3/4 day on the van but ive run out of founds for parts ect so a little gutted so looks like a week of chilling in the sun with a beer :) carnt be too bad

got bug jam to look forward to at the end of this week so im hoping this will get me going on the van again as ive been a little disheartened about it lately as i dont seem to be getting anywhere and keep finding bodge after bodge.

here what ive been up to
made some plates up to close the floor off between the sill and side panel
    [IMG]

just before i welded the floor to side panel plates in i wax oiled the inside and the sill
    [IMG]

seam sealed the floor and bulk head

red oxide all the metal to protect it from all this lovely sun at the moment :p

  8. forgot abot the b post pic, here it fully welded in

the arch has been fitted badly

    more of the red oxide

i then moved onto the front wheel arch and tub

i could see that it had a few rust holes on the inner skin but was hoping to save it
    [IMG]

and then found this little joy (balls)

    just full of fiber glass

  9. so while i was cutting away decided to cut the cab floor as well as that had some bad repair plates hiding lots of rust
    [IMG]

after all that i thought id look at the rust around the rear vent, this is going to be fun to cut out and get the shape right
    [IMG]

thought i would take her back to bare metal and start filling or to see what other bodges had been done
    [IMG]

still needs alot more filling sanding/ filling sanding but im going to save some money up for panels and filler/tools ect have a little brake for a week or so and hopely after bug jam get excited about the project again,

will keep you all posted and see some of you at the weekend
    tom

  10. could some one post a picture up of their engine bay with out the engine in so i can see what plates i have to make up for the rear tin,

I've highlighted the bit I'm after in my pic, any help with pictures would be much appreciated.

also ive had a look at the normal suppliers for parts as my fuel tank has no straps holding it in place but carnt find any, does anyone no where i can get them or is it just as easy to make some myself
