  1. which generation clock do you find noisy? I keep reading about noisy clocks in the bus, but i have a grey faced early-late clock that hardly makes a sound, maybe if you put your ear to it you can hear it, but nothing like hearing it at night... actually it's more of a silent zzzz sound than tick-tock.

I think something is wrong with your clocks.

  2. I found the hole can be exactly filled with the cap from a jar of marmalade, painted matt black

  3. Any particular brand? Smooth or chunky?

It was a grey faced one I fitted. I thought they were silent. We've had 2 in with the later faced clock and they were pretty quiet.

  5. They come in two types: earlier ones were "real" clocks, with an electric winder (they let out a "clunk" every so often). Later ones were rather tedious quartz jobs.

  6. I take it the quartz ones are the most annoying? Ive fitted a 70s porsche oil temp and pressure guage. Time of day is unimportant when I'm in the van

  7. i've found one in my cellar, complete with gauges. must venture into the cellar more often :)

  8. i put a old metal vw petrol filler cap in...looks great

  9. The T25 clocks are very noisy ,I have to drink more wine just to get to sleep...:burp:

    Ermintrude likes this.
  10. so now i can have a backing plate but still no clock, may have to nip to maplins at some point.

  11. I fitted a nice clean piece of Perspex in mine. Looks much nicer than the broken whatever it was that was already in there. Where did you get the knob from? :)

  12. Mine stopped working this weekend at bug jam.... Could be battery or at worst case a £2 clock motor from maplin...,,,,,

Absolutely shocking how expensive parts are getting these days.... Although someone wanted £250 for a clock in the auto jumble at bug jam. Wow could not believe my eyes when I seen the price.
