I bet your neighbour decided he needed to take his bin out as soon as you blocked the lane?
    Good work fella.
I need to borrow a wheel (or a pair) if they've got legal tyres on? Got someone going to CNC me another set of adaptors.
    :)

  2. Bldy neighbours..... everytime.

Welcome to use some wheels - the steels have got ok tyres on so feel free....

    Nice one, cheers matey!
Was going to leave it on stands then remembered they're in your garage!

  4. An, I got your jack.....

Give me a shout when you need em...

  5. As the boss has deemed that I'm not allowed to go to the pub, I have time to update today's activities...

Here's a picture of the van in all it's primered splendour as a reminder of where we are.

As is the way with things sometimes one thing leads to another and it so happened that the engine bay and some of the interior of the bus would not stand up to scrutiny once the outside is all shiny.

The engine bay was a few different colours and covered in oil spray from the various uncared for, leaky old engines that had been in it over the last few years.

Not nice... and this is after I had spent hours cleaning the muck out. The firewall is out for the hidden breathers to be changed over.

Likewise, the floor in the back was sprayed red oxide and black primer years ago and forgotten about.

So to go some way to improve things a couple of tins of paint were bought and sprayed on giving the first bit of shiny paint to go on.

Praise the lord for L20b and L90d colour combo....

Looking to get the breathers changed, firewall in, driveshaft rebuilt and on and engine in this week. As work is busy though I'll probably get bugger all done as usual.

  6. Well,

The engine is in an' running - thanks again Doug for the random 'let's get the engine in now' push last Sunday. Brakes work, kind of (thanks Dad) and it goes under it's own steam - hooray.

    So off it goes....

  14. Well.
A hectic few weeks in the run up to my Birthday last week where I was determined to go camping in the bus. Thanks to an amazing effort by the soon to be Knighted bodywork genius, my Dad, Doug (Baysearcher), Squirrel (Martin at Bristol Cherished Cars) and Caroline for doing some vital interior cleaning, we made it away on the sunniest weekend in a British summertime for years.......

  17. Cheers chaps. Getting people coming up to me and complimenting the bus when I'm out and about- very new experience in the 10+ year we've had vws they've always been a bit knackered so never happened before....

  18. Here's the interior - waiting on the new cab seat covers and padding to match the rear.

Felt the need to start another project so soon to arrived. '68 Marmitebox bug. Plans include new rear crossmember and various welding bits, brake rebuild, shiny wheels, lowered a bit and MOT...
