Sussed out why it leaks oil so badly!

  2. Finished making engine side panel, but snow stopped play was going to weld chassis rail and side piece on but:mad:

  3. Decided to replace the fuel filler hoses today, resulting in a couple of hours of contortionism, much swearing and some loss of skin.

made a bunk for storage today to match the roof, just to put our clothes up there

  6. Your in for a whole world of pain trying to do it with the engine in place

  7. Yes done with engine (type 4) in situ. Im led to believe that if you have a type 1 engine you will have to drop it to gain access.

  8. Took my engine out and rubbed all the rust out of the interior roof! Going for respray in two weeks yeeeeeehaaaaaa

  9. Replaced a 20th century mains system with a 21st century version and part-installed a solar panel and regulator to keep the leisure battery topped up.
Also checked the standby current of a Blaupunkt head unit I had around. 0.4A (!) with the faceplate on - but only 0.07A with no faceplate. I guess I'll just have to get used to taking the front off!
Oh, and almost died at the price of 16A plugs in B&Q (£9) - compared to £2.40 in Machine Mart. Good think I already had the cable!

  10. Pulled off all the masking tape and paper.
Ready to be trailered home and start refit of door glass, seals ..........................

  14. In my experience the new tank filler hoses dont last long - I replaced mine just over 4 years ago now after I had a bad leak experience in a petrol forecourt whilst refilling. I took the tank out last year as part of the repairs I am currently carrying out and was shocked at how bad the new filler hose had deteriorated and cracked in such a short period.

  15. Its because they are not telerant to bioethanol added to modern fuel

  16. Yep, but at around £20 - £25 a piece its a shame there isn't a replacement available in a material more suitable for the fuel.

  17. I cut away some of the upper rear corner to repair the "D" post made a few repair panels and then dropped one of the repair pieces down the "D" post, so packed up to get liquid refreshment and try to retrieve it tomorrow

  18. wh

  19. Its a ******* take dude as is most dub [arts nowadays

Im looking into some proper grade hose for mine but that doesent help when it comes to the first rubber seal on the filler kneck
