I did it with my first one http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/henry-as-well-as-all-the-others.1468/ I wish I knew then what I know now and would have put a westy roof on...
I would normally jump in and say DON'T DO IT but now I think yep turn all your tintops into poptop it may make mine more valuable.... In another 20 years
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo what a lovely Tintop that van was! Oh well nice job anyway - save Tintops I say not many left!
Which one are you referring to? The Majorhangovers' one is a sliding sunroof model so no holes cut that weren't already there.
I meant the roof. Serious gutter-rot. So I wasn't so much destroying a tin top, more like saving a Bay.
We're planning to do the same thing, Dormobile roof onto a Devon tin top, but where to cut the hole/put the roof? Baybirmingham has put his further back than it would have been originally, but apparently not as far back as the b pillar? I can see the strength reasons for cutting behind the pillar/hoop. But why did the nice people at Dormobile bung it halfway back along the front door? There'll be no bunks in the roof, just room for me and my aging back. I have a captains chair in the co pilots position... I seek advice from all the fair people of this parish, not just those of you that have knowledge, but everyone with an opinion please.
