Hi am getting power steering as I have a problem with my neck so fed up with the " challenge" of parking the bus..easy steer are 1 hour away from house ...lightsteers nearset fitting centre is 2 and half hours away ...so just wondering if there is there any real difference or is lightsteer that much better its worth the extra trip...p.s they are a similar price fitted easy steer 100 cheaper total
I have litesteer fitted and I'm really impressed with it. Quality product, well made, and simple to fit. Personally, I'd like to be able to adjust the power assistance as I find it overly light.
Litesteer for what it's worth, Litesteer is predominantly a VW product that they also fit to other vehicles. Easysteer seems to be a more generic product that can be fitted to a VW.
OK thanks guys I will go for the light steer and probably try and fit it my self...just not looking forward to the moment when I look at the van and the steering system is not in it yet
Litesteer, ideally get it fitted by Neil in East Sussex. Top bloke, great service . Rang him yesterday after 5 years to ask him a question about changing my steering coupler…. “ no need as you don’t have one !”. So although I have no knowledge of Easy Steer I also have a considerable neck problem , Litesteer. has totally helped ( plus pop top gas struts ) If your going to TE then you are welcome to check mine out.
Hopefully it will accompany me and the van ..so yes . I will be available for manipulation / inspection ( T’s & C ‘s apply ) in the bar as @Baysearcher has mentioned it may be open .
Ask Neil if theres an approved or recommended installer nearer you. Neil did for me. Aso just check your insurance doesn't insist on proof of professional fitting, I was asked to supply a receipt to prove a garage fitted it.
When I had my Litesteer fitted they were based on Vauxhall Corsa units. I know that for certain as he was explaining sourcing them showing me a bundle that had been delivered, and that he had to pay full price for them from a dealership as he wasn’t allowed to order directly from Vauxhall if I recall. Mine has the earlier cable speed sensor and is probably getting on for 8 or so years old now. It is a little on the light side and not user-adjustable, but I’m used to it and don’t notice it so never bothered going back. No issues with it asides *****ting my knee on it occasionally! Originally I went there just to check them out but was so impressed with his engineering ability and knowledge I booked it in there and then.
