Last techenders someone had a look at my Dellorto carbs for me. (Sorry forgot who it was). It was found that the air mixture screws did nothing. I've had a quote of £265 to clean and rebuild each carb. I just wondered what my alternatives are?
Get a DRLA parts diagram from the web, several cans of carb cleaner, a can of air duster, a gasket set, and do it yourself. Straightforward enough if you take your time. You don't want to throw DRLAs away. Best carbs of all.
Could just be your throttle stops are over-adjusted to get your idle rpm up. If that's the case (if you're comfortable with this), increase the idle timing a degree or two (which will increase idle rpm) then and back off the throttle stops to slow it back down again. Then check your full advance isn't then out of spec. If that doesn't work I'll give you £25 for them.
