I think this seller is dodgy. All feedback shows only as a buyer. No seller feedback - RED ALERT The other adds seem off as well. This add reads badly - 3 owners and low mileage. Don’t seem right to me. Proceed with extreme caution! It sounds too good to be true for my liking. I'd book it in for an MOT for any advisories if you can before buying. Since buying mine from Hatfields I've had the following done. Leaking shocks, Haldex oil change, new battery, and Michelin primacy all round, plus basic servicing. I reckon that's par for the course. Now at about 35k it's a joy to drive and quite brisk enough. Edit. I've also had the cam belt and water pump replaced due "to use by date " as recommended by the Skoda dealer.
My thoughts exactly. I just watched the video. Is it me or does it sound a bit loud/rough even for a diesel
If it comes with all the Skoda "books", why doesn't it come with the service history book with the dealer stamps in?!
Not sure this helps. We paid £6900 for her indoors Tiguan 4 years ago. It had 105,000 ish miles, one owner, FSH. 2013 plate, DSG 4 motion 2 litre 140bhp….loads of gubbins, self park, dual cliimate etc, no leather and no sunroofs so no burnt legs in the summer and wet floor in the winter. Are you simply not considering anything other than a yeti? My assumption is they are the same car underneath. Very rare I buy anything under 100k these days e.g. my current 2012 Passat was £4100 5 years ago, 110k miles but again 1 owner, all the books and stamps. It’s on 190,000 miles now, only non service thing it’s needed was an alternator that was £300 ish as it has a clutch but 1/2 hour to change and I service it myself and have VCDS lead. I don’t see the benefit of low mileage cars if they are over 10 years old…well looked after and average used miles beats barely used for me. Motorway miles trumps trips to the local shops all day long.
I thought plumbers were good at adding up ................................... if their bills are of any evidence. also applies to electricians.
If he hasn't got any evidence of the services being done then assume they haven't. To be honest the whole thing sounds dubious to put it mildly, I'd walk away and look for another one. It's not like they're exactly rare.
East Grinstead Motors usually have a wide selection of used vehicles. Why not give them a call - ask for "Honest Baz". Note that many of them may have some damage to the steering lock in addition to the chassis number being ground off. No big deal.
I’ve just spoken to the service department at Škoda in Darlington There’s no record of the car on Skodas service system but there service records only went digital in 2015 I watched the video of the car again and saw a dealer name below the front numberplate Bit of zooming in and a google later Their an independent Skoda garage in Harrogate I gave them a ring and the guy who owns the garage remembers the car and the owner really well The garage bought the car of a f1 mechanic who worked for Williams and sold it to the last owner who passed away Apparently the car only did a few hundred miles each year. He said it was a brilliant condition car and well looked after but it hasnt been in for a service for a couple of years as he believes the car was put into storage.
^That seems to correspond with the seller. I don’t agree with most of the comments here, lack of service history has never bothered me and the car looks in good nick and a very good price. By the time you have faffed about finding reasons not to buy it someone else will snap it up.
It's just around us Rick. Try looking Middlesbrough and further north, Wakefield and south. I got a Dacia Duster last week from Huddersfield for about a grand and a half less than closer to home. Btw, as an alternative to the Yeti I'd recommend a Duster. Well impressed so far.
