Aye theres been some un-necessary vagueness in a few answers...I'm ok with a bit of waffle if theres an answer to the yes no question...
No worries, next week will be fine…..says the man with his new wiper thingy on a shelf in the garage…….
Depends how enthusiastic about lying under vans I feel...it comes and goes lol. Last major splurge I did was fitting the remote servo and changing all the brake pipes, but that was a few years ago. Haven't really looked closely at the kit yet. It's changed a bit since the YouTube vid. I'll have a gander tomorrow if it's not peeing down.
These things take time. All purchases for the van should stay in a box in the garage for about ten years before fitting. It's traditional.
I will take one and share tomorrow. It doesn't clout knees or anything but my fusebox fit is not the neatest!
Neil fitted mine a few years ago and I have been delighted. (1971 LHD ) I do accept your frustration though when a simple question is asked which is avoided/ evaded in the reply. It raises concerns / questions perhaps totally unnecessarily. It does seem the way of the world now, ask a simple question and get a reply which gives the impression that the question has been sidestepped . Giving Neil the benefit of the doubt I would think his reply is to give assurance rather than to hide anything.
On a LHD the motor is at a slight angle towards the front with about 5mm clearance from a standard fuse box, obviously this isn’t an issue on RHD. On my LHD the only modification required was to the parcel shelf. If you have a RHD and no shelf, installation will be a breeze – and it only needs one to fit it although two might make connecting the U/J to the steering box easier. Pics below.
I live in Edinburgh and majority of our trips are up north mostly highlands and islands areas. I'd much tather have the direct connect of speedo cable adapter than GPS...
